The V3 routers from zoom are pretty easy to configure, this can be performed manually. You can purchase from any supplier, just make sure the unit is not 'locked' to a specific voip provider.

Follow the following instructions

1. Log into the router via your web browser
2. Select "Voice Over IP" from the main menu.
3. Click "Advanced VOIP setup"
4. Fill in the following details

User ID: Your freespeech number (076XXX)
Authorization ID: Your freespeech number (076XXX)
Password: The password you used on registration
Display Name: Your freespeech number (076XXX)
Domain/Realm: freespeech.ie
SIP Port: 5060
SIP Proxy Address: freespeech.ie
SIP Proxy Port: 5060
Select Ring & Tone by Country/Region: UK
Codec Preferences: G729 G711a G711u

5. Click "Save Changes"
6. Click "Write Settings and Reboot"
7. After you router reboots you can log back in and click on the "Voice Over IP" the "Current Registration Status" should be "REGISTERED", it can take a minute or two to register after the reboot so give it a chance.

Be sure to enable your firewall after you get your VOIP line working

Hi,

I was set up to use a voip phone with [removed] using an ntl cable modem and ata adapter. The service was rubbish and i have stopped using them. the ata adapter i purchased came with little or no support information.

In order to connect to freespeech.ie i need to reconfigure the ata adapter but i have been unable to do so as i don't even know what make it is etc. Is there anything i can do?

Alternatively should i purchase the zoom V3 as this is perfect to use with cable broadband. Does this work the same as my ATa adapter in that it is connected to my ntl modem via ethernet connection.

unfortunately the provider to freespeech.ie is out of stock on this item and the ADSL v5 does not look like what i need. I can buy the V3 from an alternative website but i am wondering is it hard to configure to freespeech and also will it work the same as my previous setup as explained above.

any help is much appreciated.
