QoS

Hi there,

I'm using Freespeech with NTL's 30 Euro a mth package (3Mb down 300kbps up). Quality down is excellent. People on the other end have complained about poorish voice quality and low volume but at all times one can make themselves understood. Have had some issues with calls coming in from those using a calling card internationally. The calls seem to drop after about 5-6 mins. I would imagine this is a problem on their end though as a call out has never dropped.

L91.

It's a Panasonic cordless model number kx-tg2214. I have it connected straight into the phone port on the draytel vigor 2100 wireless router... why?.

Just wondering if it was hardware or software, I suppose you are using G729 codec ? I use a Grandsteam GXP 2000 with Esat BT myself and find it good. Nobody has complained of quality issues.

Yep G729 A/B (8kbps) is the codec. packet size is 20ms. I've enabled Qos control and set the upstream speed to 300 kbps (NTL tell me this is what it is on my package).

Is there anything in the above that might need changing do u know?.

What down/up are EsatBT telling you ur getting?. Is there a reliable website where u can find out what u are actually getting down/up?.

Cheers Johnboy.

Mine was Download: 1,121,320 bps
Upload: 266,800 bps

I guess I should be happy the upload isn't far off 300 but download seems way off 3Mbps...
