I found this a bit fiddly to setup and could find any tips on the net. So I thought I'd post what works for me here.

Draytek Router
1) Add a fixed IP address for your phone by telneting into the router with hyperterminal (srv dhcp fixip add <IP Addr> <MAC Addr XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX> <Host ID>winking smiley
2) Close Hyperterminal and connect to the router agian over the web. Select NAT setup, DMZ host setup and add your fixed IP for the phone.

Snom 300
3) Connect to the phone's web interface and add an identity as follows:
Account: <07xxxxxxxx> (this is the phone number freespeech give you
Password: <?>
Registrar: freespeech.ie
Outbound Proxy: freespeech.ie:5060
Authentication Username: <07xxxxxxxx> (this is the phone number freespeech give you
On the RTP tab set the codec to: G.729A

Don't use the STUN setting as the phone gives errors in the log and although freespech's FAQ set not to use an outbound proxy had had problems if I didn't.

You may need to upgrade the router's firmware to the latest.

The only thing I havn't got working yet is the voicemail. unanswered incommong calls just time out and hang up. If anyone knows how to get voicemail working please post it here.

We are investigating issues with certain phones and conditional call forwarding. It seems some phones send responses which reset the timer, this ultimately results in a timeout from the PSTN (tradional phone) side and no voicemail.

I'm afraid that is an internal log and is not of much help

Can you verify

1. Your account goes to voicemail when it's offline
2. That your account fails to go to voicemail when calling to a software phone (and the software phone is online)
3. That it fails to go to voicemail when dialled from both a mobile and fixed line phone.

This is a problem related to compatibility between some phones and how our services handle the timeout for no answer. If the phone keeps sending messages to indicate the call is still proceeding then the timer gets extended. Perhaps there is a setting on you phone for changing this but you may need to wait until we upgrade our systems to provide individual timers per user.

Sorry I know this is inconvenient but there is little which can be done to resolve this issue for particular models except wait...
