When I dial a nuumber it is taking a long time start ringing (over a minute), is this normal? If I use a hardware phone will it be any quicker? How long is it taking other users?

Make sure you are pressing the dial button after dialing the number, some times mobile calls will take a little to set up (up to 5 secs) but a call to landline should be less than 2 seconds from pressing the SEND/DIAL button.

Just timed a landline call its taking about 40 seconds to start ringing after I've pressed the dial button.

I would advise you test with a diffent client, those setup lengths are way too long. Try the earlier version of x-lite, you can easily see a log of the call progress.

No, this is internal log. This is why I suggest the old 2.0 x-lite. It has clear logging of you call dialogue.

As I've ordered a hardware phone I think I'll just wait for that and see how it works rather than putting anymore time into this but at least it's here for otheres to see if they have similar problems.

I'll post a message when I get it to let you know how I get on.

Thanks for your help.

Great, you should expect performance of a normal phone, I edited your log to hide numbers, not a good idea to have them psted on forum smiling smiley

Got the phone and it working fine. It's much better as I have to make VPN connections to other networks which was taking the software phone off line too. Thanks for your assistance
