Delay in calls

When using my freespeech line, I notice a significant delay in the call. What I mean, is that if I say something, it may be about 1.5 seconds before the other person hears that. As a result, the conversation is quiet awkard, with both people needing to be very patient. Otherwise you end up saying something, then stopping half way through to hear what the other person is saying, and they stop half way through to hear what you are saying etc.....all very broken.

Having said that, the clarity of what is being said is perfect. It's perfectly clear, just delayed.

Is there any setting I can adjust to help improve this?

I'm using a Linksys PAP2 ATA for the calls, and a pretty good Smart Telecom IP connection, which seems to give a very consistant 2mb through put. Calls are to US mobiles and landlines, and European mobiles and land lines. All with the same result.

279ms is quite a long delay, this is passed on to support.

it would be good if you can post your IP address.

Also - is delay consistent to all location ? (ie. is it just mobile, just US, just UK etc.. etc.. )

The delay is to all locations. At least all the ones I've used. US (Mobile and landline). UK Landline. Europe Mobile.

Hello,
Please re-test your pings - there was an upgrade during the week to improve this.

well the time delay seems to have reduced. I'll give it a try tomorrow and see if the call delay is gone.

Thank you!
