I have signed up for a freespeech account, and added full access.

I have attached a fax to the line. However, while the fax is can dial a call, and I can hear the fax at the far end answer, the handshake by the fax at the far end is basically ignorned by my fax machine.

This doesn't happen if I disconnect the freespeech line and use a regular phone line instead, which means the fax machine is fine. It also works fine with a different voip account (not freespeech).

Any thoughts on what I can do to make this work?

If you are trying to send faxes using VOIP then read this - [support.freespeech.ie]

Some people use fax on an incoming freespeech line without any problems using G711 - you will have problems sending FAX over freespeech.

My fault for not reading all the FAQ before signing up for full access :/

Any plans to support fax in the future?

Yes, we have plans for fax - in fact we have a fax to email service on trial.

Great news. I look forward to it...particularly the ability to use a fax on the line, rather than fax to email.
